An 8/8 with vigilance, trample, and haste for five is a rate that would be undercosted almost anywhere, so the whole design is built around making that body a liability you have to keep feeding. The catch is the attack-or-block trigger: every time Liberty Prime enters combat, it sacrifices itself unless you pay two energy, which turns a giant threat into a resource clock. You are not casting it to swing once; you are casting it to swing repeatedly, and each swing costs you the same currency the card produces. That currency is where the second ability earns its keep, sacrificing an artifact to bank two energy and draw a card, which reads as the card paying for its own upkeep by eating your board. The tension is deliberate: energy is a finite pool, and a robot this large drains it two at a time, so the deckbuilding question is not whether the stats are good but whether you can build a fast enough artifact-fueled engine to keep the giant swinging before the energy runs dry. It is one of the cleaner marriages of the energy mechanic to a top-end threat, using the sacrifice-unless-you-pay clause to convert an obviously broken statline into something that demands a whole subtheme underneath it.
