Kosei, Penitent Warlord
A payoff that refuses to pay off until you build the whole machine. The trigger here is gated behind three separate states at once: enchanted, equipped, and carrying a counter. Satisfy all three and this 0/5 stops being an inert wall and becomes a Voltron combat-damage engine that draws you a card per point of damage and mirrors that damage onto every other opponent. The 0/5 body is the tension the design is built on: base power is zero, so the entire threat is manufactured through the attachments and buffs you stack, which means the same auras and equipment that unlock the ability are also what give it teeth. That inverts the usual Voltron logic, where the commander already hits hard and gear just adds. Here the gear is not optional garnish; it is the switch, the sword, and the fuel line at once. Assembling three permanents' worth of conditions on one creature is fragile, and a single piece of targeted removal or a bounce spell resets the whole apparatus to a harmless zero-power blocker. That fragility is the honest price for the ceiling: connect once with a properly kitted Kosei and you can refill your hand while burning the rest of the table down in a single swing. It is a design that asks for real setup and rewards it with a multiplayer haymaker, rather than incremental value.
