Kodama's Reach
The split is the whole design. Where Rampant Growth pays a card to put one land onto the battlefield (clean parity, pure ramp), this fetches two: one onto the battlefield to advance your mana, one into hand to keep your land drops live. That second land is what turns ramp into genuine card advantage, a true 2-for-1 rather than the even trade Rampant Growth settles for. You spend a turn and three mana now, but you replace the card you used and guarantee a play next turn, so the deck never sputters into a hand of spells it cannot cast. The tapped land is the price: no untapped mana the turn you cast it, which keeps the acceleration honest and pins the effect to the early-to-mid game rather than letting it chain into something explosive. It also thins the deck of two basics and fixes colors in any wedge or shard build, which is why green decks reaching past their own color have leaned on this template for two decades. Cultivate is the functional twin, doing the identical thing in the same colors at the same rate; between the two, this effect became the default green ramp package for any deck that wants to hit its sixth and seventh land drops without flooding. The Arcane type is a vestige of the spellcraft mechanics it once shipped alongside; the body of the card is pure mana-base engineering.
