Clone effects usually live on a card's entry: you copy something the moment it hits the battlefield and then live with the choice. This one reframes the mechanic as a recurring combat trigger, which is a meaningfully different design. Each of your turns, the copy target refreshes: you tap down an opponent's creature (blunting their defense) and then decide whether to become it. The growing +1/+1 counter is the reason the choice stays live. Because the copy clause rewrites everything except name, vigilance, and the trigger itself, the counter is one of the few things that survives the transformation, so an accumulating body follows you from shape to shape. That turns the copy from a one-shot appraisal into an ongoing shell: hold the current form while the counter stacks, then reassign to whatever new threat an opponent commits, keeping the vigilance and the tap effect intact across every hop. The tap-and-mimic pairing is quietly aggressive too, since the creature you neutralize on defense is frequently the same creature you would most want to wear on offense. It is a flexible answer, a repeatable removal-adjacent tap, and a scaling threat folded into a single combat step, and the interesting part is how little of that is fixed. What Kimahri copies is a decision you get to remake every turn rather than a state you lock in once.
