Karvanista, Loyal Lupari // Lupari Shield
The split does something green almost never bothers to attempt: it makes Humans a plan rather than a happy accident. Both halves are explicitly tribal, and the Adventure structure lets you buy them at different points in the game. Lupari Shield grants your Humans indestructible until your next turn, a blanket you can throw over the board through a wrath or an ugly block; because casting an Adventure exiles the card rather than pinning the two halves together, you spend the shield early and still collect the 5/5 later. That sequencing is the entire design. The protection wants to land when your Humans are few and fragile; the beater wants to arrive once you have a wide board for its attack trigger to feed. When Karvanista swings, every Human you control gains a counter, converting a board of small bodies into a lethal one in a single step, and vigilance means that growth costs you no blocker on the back swing. Trample and haste finish the profile of a creature built to close a game, not stall one. The flavor and the mechanics point the same direction: a guardian who shields his charges first, then leads the charge that makes them bigger. What makes the card unusual is that it hands green a genuine counter-based tribal payoff, the kind of engine white or a Human deck built around Champion of the Parish would normally own, and dresses it as an Alien Dog Soldier.
