Myriad has always scaled with the table: more opponents means more attacking copies each swing spawns. The interesting move here is decoupling that payoff from the creature that carries it. Rather than stapling myriad to one fixed body, this hands the keyword out at the top of combat, once per turn, to whichever nonlegendary creature you point it at. The Lieutenant clause does the gating work: the trigger only fires while your commander is on the battlefield, so the reward is tied to keeping the deck's centerpiece in play rather than to any single attacker surviving. The nonlegendary restriction reads like a throwaway line but steers the choice toward the creatures worth duplicating: token generators, evasive threats, enter-the-battlefield engines, anything whose copies do real work before they exile at end of combat. The result turns a wide-battlefield white midrange deck into a per-turn burst of multiplayer pressure, spreading attackers across every opponent at once without spending extra cards. A 3/3 for four is a modest frame on its own; the value lives entirely in what it grants the rest of the board, which puts it firmly in the commander-dependent engine category rather than the standalone threat one.
