Inspiring Leader

Where most Backgrounds hand a static buff directly to the leader they ride alongside, this one turns the commander into a delivery mechanism, grafting an anthem onto whatever creature already leads the deck. The result is oddly indirect: your commander becomes the printed source of a +2/+2 boost for every creature token you control, so the payoff scales with a wide board of Soldiers, Zombies, Saprolings, or Spirits rather than with anything about the leader itself. That routing is what earns it a slot. A token-swarm shell would ordinarily spend a card on a dedicated anthem body; here the leader carries the pump instead, which frees the paired commander to be one that actually manufactures the bodies. It is pure support by construction, never a clock on its own, and it produces nothing until there are tokens on the battlefield for it to enlarge. That fragility is folded in deliberately. Because the boost lives on the commander, a board wipe or a single point of targeted interaction at the leader takes the anthem with it, and every token snaps back to its base size the instant the source leaves play. The card asks a deck to already be flooding the board, then rewards that commitment by making each body hit harder, at the cost of stapling the whole engine to a creature everyone at the table already wants dead.
