Imotekh the Stormlord

The two named abilities chase the same Necron fantasy from opposite ends: an army that will not stay dead, marshaled by a leader who makes the survivors deadlier. Phaeron converts graveyard traffic into a token engine, but the trigger's precise wiring is the interesting part: it fires when artifact cards leave your graveyard, not when they enter it. That couples the payoff to reanimation and to any effect that routinely pulls artifacts back to hand or the battlefield. Because it is a triggered ability rather than a replacement, the reward stacks cleanly on top of whatever recursion caused it: cast the returned card, keep the returned card, and add two 2/2 bodies to the board on the side. It asks you to treat graveyard churn as its own renewable resource. Grand Strategist is the other half, and its restriction is where the puzzle lives: the +2/+2 and menace name another artifact creature, never Imotekh itself, so the card is permanently a general handing out orders rather than the front-line brawler its body would otherwise ask it to be. The buff also lands at the beginning of combat, before attackers are declared, so the menace arrives in time to break through a stalled board. Together the abilities point at one table: an artifact swarm that recurs its own casualties and anoints a new champion each turn. It wants a graveyard worth mining and a battlefield worth commanding, and it does neither job alone.
