The end-step wipe is the entire design, a hard reset that converts a steady card-advantage engine into a per-turn use-it-or-lose-it problem. The math only works if you spend everything before your turn ends, which rewards decks that empty their hand on the proactive turn (cheap aggressive curves, mass-discard payoffs, anything that wants spells in the graveyard rather than the grip) and actively punishes the durdly value pile that naturally hoards cards. There is a deeper cost buried in that timing clause: the wipe also strips away anything you might have held for the opponent's turn, so there is no leaving up a counterspell or a combat trick, because by the time your opponent untaps your hand is already gone. The effect does not so much enable reactive play as forbid it, which is part of why the raw rate stays affordable. An engine this pure with no downside would warp any format that hosted it; the discard demands you restructure how you sequence an entire turn around the wipe, committing every card before you draw the next batch. The result reads like a windfall and plays like a constraint, the kind of artifact that defines a deck rather than slotting into one.
