Gorbag of Minas Morgul

Legendary Creature — Orc Soldier1 generic manaBlack mana

The design conceit is turning your attackers into fuel the moment they connect: any Goblin or Orc that gets through can be cashed in for a card or a Treasure, so combat damage stops being the end of the exchange and becomes the trigger for one. That reframes the whole aggressive plan. Bodies you would ordinarily hold back to keep pressure on the board become expendable the instant they've done their job, and a swarm that trades poorly in prolonged combat suddenly has an exit that pays. The sacrifice is optional and resolves per creature, which is where the real decision lives: you choose on each hit whether the attacker was worth more alive or in the yard, and the Treasure line quietly funds whatever comes next, whether that's a bigger threat or a recursion loop that sends the same expendable creatures back in. Black has always paid life or cards for tempo; here the payment is the attacker itself, and the return is either the card advantage that aggressive black usually lacks or the ramp to keep the curve moving. The tension the design has to manage is that Gorbag is a 2/2 with no evasion and no protection, so the engine only runs if your other creatures can connect, and the value grows the wider and more disposable your Goblins and Orcs are.
