Two bodies for two mana is an honest white token rate, the sort of cheap go-wide fuel and convoke food that earns a slot without demanding a deck built around it. The fateful-hour clause is what gives the card a second register: at five life or fewer, the same casting floods the board with five Humans instead of two, converting a board you can no longer race with into one that can block out a turn or swing back hard enough to stabilize. What makes the design pull its weight is the tension baked into that condition. The bonus only arrives once you have already absorbed serious damage, so the card quietly rewards decks that treat life as a spendable resource: shells that pay life for tempo, races where being low is a position rather than a panic, builds that manipulate their own life total downward on purpose. Casting it at full life is the floor; casting it at the brink is the ceiling, and the spell forces you to read whether five life is a crisis or a green light. That conditional more-than-doubling is why it carries more strategic weight than its token count suggests, and it occasionally makes a counterintuitive line correct: pointing a burn spell or a painful fetch at your own life total, or simply declining a block, to arm the bigger half of the card. A sorcery cheap enough to hold for the exact turn the trouble shows up.
