Garruk's Warsteed
A common-rarity creature whose enter-the-battlefield trigger tutors one specific named planeswalker, Garruk, Savage Herald, from library or graveyard directly to hand: a signpost built to teach deckbuilding by hard-wiring the synergy, so a new player who opens the rhino is pointed straight at its payoff. As a body it is honest enough for the job: a defensive 3/5 with vigilance that holds the ground while you develop toward casting the planeswalker it just fetched. The unusual mercy in the trigger is the graveyard clause. Most tutors of this shape only rummage the library; being able to reclaim the planeswalker from the yard means a milled, countered, or destroyed Garruk stays recoverable, which matters when the whole point of the card is to guarantee you assemble both halves. Outside the closed loop it was written for, the tutor reads as blank text, and that is deliberate: a training-wheels engine, not a toolbox effect. The template recurs across core-set design, which has repeatedly paired a creature with a matching planeswalker to teach the same lesson about building around a named card.
