Two Clues on arrival and a body that eats artifacts for keywords: the entry payoff and the sacrifice ability are meant to be read together, but they pull in opposite directions, and that tension is the whole design. Each Clue holds a choice. You can crack it for its own draw, or you can feed it to Ezrim to buy vigilance, lifelink, or hexproof for the turn; you do not get both from the same token. That fork is the cost that pays for how flexible the protection is. The load-bearing mode is hexproof at instant speed: in response to a targeted removal spell, a mana and one artifact turn a five-mana flyer into a threat that answers its own vulnerability, and it does so as often as you have artifacts to spend. Any artifact works, which lets the card reach past its own Clues into Treasure, other token-makers, and the wider artifact shell, but each Clue spent this way is a resource you could have converted into a card instead. That is the trade the design keeps forcing: survival or draw, protection or advantage, one crank at a time. A 5/5 flyer that stabilizes the board precisely because it is willing to cannibalize the value it generated to stay there, and asks you to price that decision every single turn.
