Unconditional destruction of any nonland permanent is a premium the color pie rarely hands white without a catch, and here the catch is doubly compensatory: the target's controller banks two Treasure tokens, and the copy clause turns a private answer into a public bargaining chip. The Treasure payout is a symmetrical apology to the person you just blew out, softening a hard removal spell into a partial trade; two mana back matters without letting them break even. Demonstrate is where the design turns political. Copying the spell gives you two destructions of your own, then hands one to an opponent of your choosing, who gets to point it wherever they like. So the arithmetic is deliberately lopsided: the caster answers two permanents, the chosen ally answers one, and everyone at the table watches you decide who benefits from the deal. That is the governor on a spell that would otherwise be too clean for white to hold: it converts raw removal into a tool for brokering table dynamics, inviting another player into the blowout rather than accruing quiet solo advantage. The whole package reads as a color-pie concession stapled to a table-management incentive: white gets to destroy anything, but only by making the removal a shared, compensated, and slightly theatrical event. It is built entirely for the multi-opponent game, where the copy has a second target and the Treasure gifts feel less like a straight handoff to your one and only rival.
