Essence of Orthodoxy
Every Phyrexian you play, this flier included on the way in, stamps out an Incubator that arrives with two counters already stacked on it. That is a wider payoff than the body suggests, but the incubate mechanic keeps a five-mana 3/3 from running away with the game: the tokens land as inert artifacts, banked counters that do nothing until you pay to flip each one into a live 2/2. The board that looks explosive on paper is really a ledger you unlock a step at a time, and the flip does not itself count as entering, so paying the transform cost buys a creature but never a fresh incubate trigger. The engine is fed by more Phyrexians entering, not by cashing in the tokens it already made. Deferred, not immediate: this is a go-wide token generator that asks a deck to have mana to spare in the late turns. The Phyrexian type is doing double structural work here, serving as both the trigger condition and half the reward, which makes the card a build-around rather than a standalone flier. Alone it lands and eventually contributes one delayed 2/2; surrounded by a committed tribal shell, it becomes a counter factory that scales with how many Phyrexians the rest of the list is willing to run.
