Dragonhawk, Fate's Tempest
Most big-creature payoffs hand you either the beatdown or the card advantage. This one does something stranger: it turns the payout itself into a real-time pricing decision. The trigger counts creatures you control with power 4 or greater, and because Dragonhawk is a 5/5 flier it always counts itself, so it exiles at least one card even onto an empty board, and far more once heavy bodies are stacked around it. The impulse-draw fires on both entry and attack, but the tension lives in the back half: everything exiled is playable until your next end step, and every card still exiled when that step arrives detonates for 2 damage to each opponent. Spend the lands and cheap spells to develop the board and the burn shrinks; sit on the expensive cards you cannot cast this turn and they become artillery pointed at faces rather than boards. The card asks you, in real time, to read each exiled card as either a resource or a projectile, and the answer shifts with the life totals in front of you. The counter scales with how tall the deck is built, and because the reach hits opponents directly it doubles as a closer that never needs Dragonhawk to connect a second time. The reward is aimed at a deck that overbuilt on power 4 or greater and now wants to convert the overkill into a clock.
