Divinity of Pride
Twenty-five life is the line this card draws in the sand, and everything about it bends toward staying above it. Clear the threshold and the printed 4/4 swings as an 8/8 flyer with lifelink, a clock that builds its own buffer with every connection: each hit pads the life total that keeps the bonus online, pushing the number further from an opponent's reach. The lifelink and the threshold feed one another in a single direction, since gaining life both shortens the game and protects the +4/+4. Dip below the line and the creature snaps back to its base body, mid-combat included, a flying lifelink 4/4 that has stopped finishing games. That vulnerability is the price of the swing: one burst of damage or a chunk of life loss flips it out of monster mode at the worst possible moment, and the bonus vanishes the instant the total slips. The five symbols, each payable with white or black, let it ride on whichever of the two colors a deck already runs without ever demanding both, the flexibility that buys it a home. It is an aggressive top-end built for a board already ahead, rewarding a life total that keeps climbing and punishing one that has been racing too loosely.
