Diplomacy of the Wastes

Targeted discard with a tribal rider, and the conditional rider names exactly who it was built for. The base effect is a stripped-down hand-attack spell: the opponent reveals, you take the dangerous nonland card, you leave the lands behind. That much is fair, replaceable, the kind of black sorcery that has existed in some form since the game's earliest sets. The Warrior clause is where the design earns its keep, bolting two life of loss onto a hand-disruption spell (the opponent loses two, you gain nothing) so that an aggressive creature deck gets reach out of a card that is otherwise pure tempo denial. Note that this is life loss, not damage: no attacker, no combat step, nothing that a prevention effect or a fog can touch, which makes it reliable in exactly the situations a Warrior deck cares about. That pairing is the unusual part: discard and aggression usually want different shells, one wanting a grindy game and the other wanting to end things before the late turns matter, and this card asks a Warrior build to run hand attack it would normally skip by paying it back in life. The cost of that flexibility is real. Without a Warrior in play it is a worse rate than the premium discard spells, and even with one, two life is small enough that it rarely closes a game by itself. It is a deliberate attempt to hand a creature tribe a noncreature support card that still advances the clock, rather than handing it another body.
