Dark Supplicant

A tutor with a name written into it. This little Cleric exists to do exactly one thing: convert a clutch of bodies into Scion of Darkness, a seven-mana 6/6 trampler with a graveyard-reanimation kicker. The design is a deliberate build-around experiment from the tribal era, when Wizards seeded individual creatures that searched for specific named partners rather than for effects. What makes the mechanic noteworthy is the breadth of where it looks: graveyard, hand, and library, in any combination. That clause is doing real work. It means the Scion you discarded to a Cabal Therapy or pitched to a cycling cost is just as findable as the one still in your deck, so the package tolerates the card disadvantage a dedicated Clerics shell already accrues. The cost is the friction, but it is gentler than it reads: because the Supplicant is itself a Cleric, it can count as one of the three bodies sacrificed, so the activation asks for the Supplicant plus two other Clerics rather than a full four-creature board. Note what the ability does not carry: no timing restriction at all, and no mana in the cost beyond tapping. With the Clerics assembled, it can fire on an opponent's end step, slamming the fatty down at instant speed for nothing but a tap and three sacrifices. It is a closed loop, useless without its named target and toothless without a tribe to fuel it, which is precisely the point: a two-card combo printed across two cards in the same block, with the bodies to bridge them as the price of entry.
