Targeting becomes a punishment under this enchantment, and not just for your opponent. The trigger fires symmetrically: any spell or ability that targets a creature, yours or theirs, bounces that creature to hand before the effect resolves, which means the targeting spell or ability fizzles if it has no other legal target. The design turns the most basic interaction in the game (point a removal spell at a creature, point a pump spell at your own attacker) into a Pandora's box. Cast an Aura on a creature? Because the Aura targets, the creature returns to hand while the Aura is still on the stack; the Aura then has no legal target, fizzles, and goes straight to the graveyard, never attaching at all. Block, then try to pump? The blocker vanishes and the spell evaporates. Even your own beneficial effects become liabilities, so the card forces a strange restraint on the table: nobody can touch a creature without consequence, and the board freezes into a standoff where the safest play is to not interact at all. That is the rare effect that reshapes the texture of a game rather than the contents of a board, which is why it has always lived as a puzzle piece rather than a curve-filler. It rewards self-bounce loops and enters-the-battlefield engines, where the forced return is a feature: target your own value creature, replay it, repeat. What enables those loops is the same symmetry that disarms your own removal as thoroughly as anything pointed your way.
