Cosmic Epiphany

Sorcery4 generic manaBlue manaBlue mana

Six mana to draw a variable number of cards is a bet placed on the deck around it, not on the spell itself. The payoff scales with a graveyard already stocked with instants and sorceries, which means the price tag only makes sense once a spellslinger shell has done its work: cantrips resolved, removal spent, counterspells traded away over the early turns. In an empty graveyard it draws nothing, and there is no floor written into the card to protect you from casting it too soon. That refusal to guarantee a minimum is the whole design tension. Cards like this ask you to earn the ceiling rather than pay a fixed rate for a fixed reward, and the reward compounds precisely in the decks that were going to run out of gas anyway. It sits in a long line of graveyard-count refuels, the descendants of effects that reward a full bin, but where the classic versions cared about creatures or total card count, this one narrows the fuel to the two card types a control or storm-adjacent deck is already burning through. The sorcery-speed clause matters too: you cannot leave the mana open as a reactive draw between turns, so the six comes off the top of a turn you meant to spend developing, which is why it reads as a mid-game reload rather than a value instant. Build the graveyard, then cash it.
