Green rarely gets to hold up mana, and the design here is honest about why: the flash is conditional, keyed to controlling a Desert, so the six-power trampler only ambushes when you have paid a deckbuilding tax up front. That is the whole trade. Run enough Deserts and a 6/5 sits in hand as a surprise blocker that eats attackers at instant speed; run none and it is a straightforward four-drop beater that has to telegraph itself a turn early. The graveyard ability closes the loop in the other direction: once it dies or gets discarded, exiling it tutors a Desert onto the battlefield tapped, thickening your Desert count and keeping the flash condition live for the next threat in the line. Note that it does not return itself: this is a land-fetch engine that trades the body away permanently, not recursion. The card wants a deck that treats Deserts as a real subtheme rather than incidental fixing, and it rewards that commitment on both axes: the body earns a keyword while it lives, the graveyard turns it into fixing once it is gone. What makes it worth study is how tightly the two clauses reinforce a single ask. The land subtype does the balancing work a color restriction or a summoning delay would do elsewhere; the flash is a payoff you build toward, not a default the card hands out.
