Clattering Skeletons

Creature — Skeleton3 generic manaBlack mana

Most venture creatures collect their toll on the way in: attack, tap, or activate to earn a step down the stairs. This one bills you on the way out. The body is a plain 4/3 that trades and blocks like any midrange beater, but the death trigger reframes what dying means. Whether it falls to removal, a chump block, or a losing race, the corpse advances your dungeon a room. That converts an ordinary casualty into a floor of guaranteed value, and it rewards the exact play patterns most creatures punish: throw it into a bad attack, hold it back to block something larger, or feed it to a sacrifice outlet, and each unfavorable trade still buys progress. A skeleton is a fitting shell for the effect, given the type's long habit of returning and refusing to stay useful only while alive. On its own the rate is honest for a common; the design idea is that its most vulnerable outcome, getting killed, is also the one that pays. It is a small, clear expression of the mechanic's central lesson: dungeon rooms want triggers, and the cheapest triggers are the ones you were going to generate anyway. A creature you were happy to lose becomes a creature that loses on your terms.
