Clara Oswald
A doubler that exists entirely on the partner side of the equation. The Doctor's companion mechanic already asks you to pair two commanders together; Clara's contribution to that pairing is a single, targeted amplification: every triggered ability of a Doctor you control fires twice. That narrows and sharpens the whole build. She does not care about creatures generally, does not care about your spells, does not care about combat. She cares about one specific partner archetype and turns its incidental triggers into a compounding engine. The Impossible Girl clause is the connective tissue that lets her function: rather than sitting stranded as a colorless card with no way into a real deck, she asks you to declare one color before the game and takes on that color, folding a rare bit of pregame deckbuilding directly into her text box rather than into a companion or plot mechanic. The body, a 2/6, is built to survive rather than attack, which is honest to her role: she is not a clock, she is the reason the clock ticks twice. What makes her more than a static doubler is the specificity of the target. Most trigger-doublers amplify everything and ask you to build the whole deck around noise; Clara amplifies exactly one legendary partner and asks you to build around that partner's text box instead. It is a doubler with a name attached, which is precisely the design point.
