Blossoming Calm

Hexproof for yourself is a strangely narrow shield: it does nothing about a removal spell pointed at your creatures, nothing against a sweeper, nothing about damage already on the board. What it slams shut is the category of spells that target the player directly: a Thoughtseize picking your hand apart, a Duress, a burn spell aimed at your face. That is a small window, but it is exactly the window that decides certain races, and rebound is what turns one pane into two. The first cast protects you across your opponent's turn only, expiring as your next turn begins; then the card returns from exile on that same upkeep for no mana, granting a second stretch of hexproof through the following opponent turn. Two castings out of one white mana, spanning two enemy turns back to back, with four life across the pair when the plan is to outlast rather than to trade.

The tension is that this protects the pilot, not the plan. It cannot protect your best threat or blank a creature-removal spell, so its value is confined to decks whose single point of failure lives on the player's side of the equation: a life total under a clock, a hand that cannot afford to be stripped. Strip the rebound off and you are left with a do-nothing trick; with it, the card becomes a repeatable stall, buying two opponent turns of coverage for almost nothing left up.
