Bloodspore Thrinax

Devour normally caps its payoff at the moment the creature enters: you sacrifice your board, the devourer gets fat, and the value stops there. This Lizard turns that one-time spike into a standing tax on every creature you play afterward. Sacrifice four bodies on the way in and the Thrinax becomes a 6/6, but the real text is the second line: from then on, every other creature you control arrives with four extra counters stapled on. A 1/1 token enters as a 5/5; a Devour creature cast later devours its own fodder and inherits the Thrinax's count on top. It is a multiplier disguised as a beater, and it rewards going wide and going tall in the same breath, since each new counter on the Thrinax raises the floor for everything to follow.

The friction is that the engine is front-loaded onto a 2/2 with no protection. The counters live on a body that dies to any removal spell, and unlike a counter that sits inertly on the board, killing the Thrinax also switches off the enters-with bonus for everything you cast next. The design asks you to overcommit early, then race to convert that investment before someone resets it. Where most counter payoffs are static anthems, this one is a single point of failure that happens to scale faster than almost anything in its color.
