Blood Tyrant

Creature — Vampire4 generic manaBlue manaBlack manaRed mana

A finisher that grows itself off the same Grixis-color drain that erodes the table. The upkeep clause turns a symmetric life loss into an asymmetric counter engine: every point any player sheds (including its controller) becomes permanent power, so a four-player table feeds it four counters a turn while a duel feeds it two. The body that results carries flying and trample, which is the part of the design that matters: a clock that ticks up on its own does nothing if it can be chumped, so the threat is built to push the accumulated counters through the air or over a wall. The second trigger is the kicker on the kill condition, rewarding the deck for closing games it has already started: knock anyone out and the creature jumps by five at once, a snowball clause that makes a board with multiple low-life opponents lethal in a single swing. The tension in the card is that its growth costs its pilot life too, so it is a payoff that demands a deck willing to race the symmetric drain it generates rather than sit behind it. It belongs to a strain of early multicolor Vampire design where the win condition and the resource that fuels it are the same line of text, and the math only resolves in your favor if you are the one already ahead on the board.
