The read ahead mechanic bakes a choice into every Saga's entry: skip to the chapter you want and start there, at the cost of the intervening triggers. History Teacher lifts that decision off the individual card and makes it a static rule for every Saga you control, which quietly rewrites how the whole subtype plays. A Saga you would normally deploy for its final chapter now arrives already there, no waiting, no downside triggers you did not want; a Saga you want for its opening chapters still reads normally, because you simply choose to start early. The ability is not raw acceleration so much as free selection: it hands you the pick that read ahead already offered, on cards printed before read ahead existed, and on every Saga at once. The 1/3 body is deliberately unimposing, an Advisor whose job is to sit back and let the enchantments do the talking. Its Doctor's companion tag anchors the card to the two-commander framework the accompanying Doctor characters built, pairing it with a partnered Doctor. As a piece of Saga design, it is the rare enabler that improves cards it never met, turning a mechanic's built-in flexibility into a constant across your Sagas.
