Argentum Masticore
The Masticore template has always paid for a big beater with a punishing upkeep tax, going back to the original that made you discard or lose it. This one turns that same maintenance cost into an upside: the card you throw away each turn is not just food for a hungry artifact, it is the fuel for a Vindicate. The discard's mana value sets the ceiling on what you can destroy, which quietly rewires how you build around it. A hand full of expensive cards becomes a stockpile of removal, and the tension between keeping cards to cast and pitching them to kill is the whole engine. Protection from multicolored is the odd rider that gives it real teeth against certain decks: it walks past gold-costed removal and blocks or attacks into multicolored creatures with impunity, which is a narrower but sharper defense than a blanket protection ability would be. First strike on a 5/5 makes it a genuine problem on the ground, but the body is almost incidental to what the card actually does, which is trade cards in hand for permanents on the far side of the table, one per turn, forever, as long as you keep feeding it.
