Alharu, Solemn Ritualist
A counters-matters commander that hands the counters out rather than growing itself. On arrival, it seeds two other creatures, and the death trigger then converts every one of those investments into a flying Spirit, provided the dying creature is nontoken and still carries a counter. That pairing turns a graveyard-averse mechanic into an aristocrats engine: the counter is not just a stat boost but a death flag, and any sacrifice outlet you point at a counter-bearing creature yields a body back. The nontoken clause is the balancing wrinkle, since it stops the Spirits from feeding on themselves and looping infinitely off a single sacrifice outlet. Partner is what elevates the design from a role-player to a build-around: the counter-distribution half wants a second commander that either produces bodies worth counting or offers the sacrifice outlets and payoffs the death trigger implies, and the Partner cycle it belongs to was built precisely so that white's proliferate-adjacent support could plug into whatever colors those payoffs live in. Left alone, the 3/3 accomplishes nothing and closes no games; the card is entirely about the machine it builds around the two triggers, functioning as the counter-and-tokens spine you assemble a deck along rather than as a threat in its own right.
