Equipment decks always carried the same structural leak: they spend cards up front (the Equipment, then a body to wear it) with no built-in engine to refill. The Boros commander wearing the sword fixes that by pricing card advantage into the attack step itself. So long as one attacker is holstered, every combat replaces the card you spent suiting up. The second ability is the tell that the design understood the archetype's other historical weakness: Equipment aggro loses to the spot-removal spell that catches the creature mid-swing, or to the burn that trades down on your beater. Paying a single white to unattach the gear, tap that creature, and grant it indestructible until end of turn is a protection line built for exactly those windows. It works at instant speed, so you hold up the ability and answer the removal on the stack rather than committing preemptively; the creature you were counting on survives the exchange. The 3/3 for three is deliberately unremarkable: this is a support piece that wants a suite of Equipment and a second creature to hold it, not a beater that carries a game alone. What makes the design coherent is that both halves point at the same table state (multiple creatures, real Equipment, an aggressive red-white plan), and each answers a different reason those decks historically stalled out: the draw trigger fights the card-disadvantage problem, the indestructible line fights the removal problem.
