The attack trigger is a bet placed twice over. First you commit to swinging with a fragile body; then you decide whether to feed it an artifact, and only if you follow through does the counter land and the fight resolve. That sequencing matters: because the growth and the removal are stapled to the same sacrifice, every combat step becomes a question of whether the artifact you're spending is worth more than the creature you're aiming at. Fight is the sharper edge here than the counter. A green fight effect that scales as it kills means the body you're shooting at grows less able to trade back with each swing, so the removal compounds rather than plateaus. The companion clause pushes all of this into a two-headed command zone alongside the Doctor, where the sacrifice fuel and the artifacts that make the fuel worth converting can be built as a dedicated subtheme rather than a splash. What's genuinely unusual is the packaging: green rarely gets repeatable creature removal that isn't gated behind a mana investment or a symmetric drawback, and here the only cost is a resource the deck was already generating. The friction is that the whole engine idles the turn you have nothing to sacrifice, and a 2/2 that has to attack to do its work is exposed in exactly the window it's trying to grow out of.
