Zuberi, Golden Feather

A tribal lord for a creature type that was never quite a tribe. Griffins exist across Magic as scattered flying beaters, white and occasionally multicolor, but they have never carried a mechanical identity beyond "evasive body" the way Goblins or Elves do. This is the anthropomorphized answer to that gap: a Griffin that anoints other Griffins, the rare lord whose payoff has more flavor than support. The five-mana 3/3 flier with a static buff is built like the early lords of its era, when a 3/3 body and a passive team-wide bonus was a perfectly fair rate and tribal synergy meant a +1/+1 anthem rather than a chain of triggered engines. What dates it is the cost structure: by the time lord effects migrated to the two- and three-drop slots, paying five for a body that needs other copies of a thin creature type to matter had stopped being competitive math. Zuberi remains a curiosity of design ambition outrunning the card pool around it, a named character given a tribal role no set ever decided to fill out.
