Creature — Human Monk2 generic manaBlue mana

The untap trigger is the whole design, and it reframes what the body in front of you can do. The activated ability by itself is a once-per-turn looter: pay blue, tap, draw and then discard. The trigger strips the tap cost out of the loop by untapping the creature every time you cast a noncreature spell, so in a deck dense with cheap instants and sorceries, each spell you fire hands back the loot for the price of one more blue mana. That converts a filtering creature into a card-velocity engine that scales with how spell-heavy the shell around it is. The honest tension sits in the loot itself: drawing first and discarding second is filtering, not net card advantage, so you are trading a card you do not want for one you might, and the engine spins only as fast as your mana and your spell count allow. It rewards decks that treat the discard as upside (graveyard fuel, or digging toward a specific piece) rather than as a tax. The counterweight is the body. At one toughness it dies to nearly any spot removal or incidental ping before the untap loop gets rolling, which keeps a creature that could otherwise churn through your deck every turn firmly in build-around territory rather than something you jam on rate alone.
