Zealous Guardian

Creature — Kithkin SoldierWhite or Blue mana

The hybrid symbol is the whole pitch, and the design sits at the floor of what that symbol enables. A 1/1 with flash and no other text is about as minimal as a creature gets; what the hybrid cost buys is castability from either side of a white-blue pairing, so a deck leaning on a single color can still hold this up for the one mana it was always going to have available. The lone line of text means the card asks nothing except the timing decision: flash it in as a surprise blocker, ambush a tapped-out one-toughness attacker, or drop a body on the end step before untapping into a bigger play. That is the entire transaction. It costs as little as a creature can while still forcing a real combat read from an opponent who has to respect that the white-blue player might be sitting on it. The body never grows and the ability never changes; it dies to nearly everything, and the appeal is simply that it can arrive at a moment of your choosing for the smallest investment two colors can share. As a study in how little you can staple to flash and still have a defensible dual-color blocker, it is deliberately spare: a hybrid creature priced to be slotted as filler, not built around.
