Your Wish Is My Command

Sorcery1 generic manaBlue mana

Blue has fetched from the sideboard before: Cunning Wish built its whole identity around pulling instants across the deck boundary, and this design walks the same line while trading speed for a sharper twist. It hands you any instant or sorcery in your sideboard and lets you cast it (you still pay that spell's cost on top of the two mana here, so this is a discount on card slots, not on mana). Being a sorcery, it never crosses the board during an opponent's turn; you commit on your own main phase, which makes the toolbox proactive planning rather than reactive interaction. The wrinkle that separates it from a plain tutor is the modal rider: cast a charm or a command-style spell through this and you unlock an additional mode, wringing a second effect out of a card built to grant one. That reshapes what belongs in the fetch closet, because the more modal your targets, the more value each cast peels off, and it rewards knowing precisely which flexible spell answers the situation. The design lives on the seam between deck and sideboard, a space Magic has treated as a strategic privilege since the earliest wishes, and it pushes that seam toward the spells that most reward being cast in modular pieces: not a single silver bullet, but a menu of them, half of them buy-one-get-one.

You may cast an instant or sorcery spell from your sideboard. If you cast a modal spell this way, you may choose an additional mode. (A modal spell lets you choose one or more modes from a bulleted list.)
