Ordinary redistribution effects hand life around the pod like currency; this one gathers the entire ledger into the Archenemy's hands and lets them reprice it wholesale. Setting this scheme in motion lets the Archenemy pool any number of life totals and reassign them at will, which means the player sitting at 40 and the player clinging to 3 are, for one triggered instant, just numbers to be shuffled. That framing is what the Scheme card type exists for: the Archenemy plays a fundamentally different game than a normal multiplayer table, and the format leans on asymmetric, board-warping effects that no ordinary card would be allowed to print. The sharp edge is redistribution rather than gain or loss. You are not padding your own total so much as inverting the social math of a multiplayer board: the healthiest opponent can be dropped to the brink, the safest lead erased, alliances rearranged by fiat. It rewards timing over accumulation, since the value swings entirely on the totals present when the scheme resolves rather than on anything built beforehand. As Archenemy design it does exactly what the type is for: it makes one player the hazard everyone else has to survive, and hands that player a lever big enough to justify the gang-up in the first place.
