Yavimaya Sapherd
Two bodies for three mana, split into a 2/2 and a 1/1, with the smaller half wearing the Saproling tag that a whole green-black sacrifice lineage cares about. The math is the appeal: this is a pile of cheap power and toughness that arrives as separate units, which means it feeds anything that counts creatures (convoke, populate, sacrifice fodder, anthem effects) twice for one card. The body distribution matters more than the total stats. A 2/2 that brings a token is a worse blocker and a worse attacker than a single 3/3, but it is a better engine piece, because the token is a permanent you can throw at a Bloodthrone Vampire or tap to convoke Scatter the Seeds without losing your real threat. Fungus and Saproling have shared a tribal axis for a long time, going back to the days when Thallid creatures stored spore counters to birth Saprolings on a timer; this design just front-loads that promise into a single enters-the-battlefield trigger. Nothing here is doing anything tricky. It is honest two-for-one value at the most generic rate green offers, built so that the second body is always relevant to a deck that was already counting bodies.
