Worthy Knight

Creature — Human Knight1 generic manaWhite mana

The engine that made a Knight tribe feel like a token deck. Most tribal payoffs reward you for having many creatures of a type on the battlefield: an anthem, a lord bonus, a cost reducer. This one rewards the act of casting, minting a body every time a Knight spell hits the stack. That distinction matters because the tokens it produces are Humans, not Knights, so it does not feed itself; it turns a tribe built around efficient two- and three-drops into a go-wide board that outnumbers what the Knight count alone would suggest. The design also quietly loosens the tribal straitjacket. A Knight deck normally has to run enough on-type cards to justify its lords, and each of those cards competes for a slot. Here the reward is front-loaded onto the cast trigger, so the token stream is a return on cards you were already playing rather than a tax demanding more of them. The 2/2 body is priced to belong on the curve it enables: cheap enough to precede the payoffs it wants to see, sturdy enough not to fold to the first blocker. It is the connective tissue of a Knight strategy, the card that decides whether "Knights" is a pile of individually reasonable creatures or a synergy deck with a floor of free bodies underneath it.
