Worldfire
Most reset effects undo a board; this one undoes the game. Exiling every permanent, every card in hand, and every card in a graveyard, then dropping all life totals to a single point, leaves Magic in a state it was never meant to occupy: empty hands, empty boards, and every player one ping from dead. The design intent is unmistakable. This is a win condition disguised as a reset, and the trick is sequencing. Cast it on the back of something that survives the wipe (a spell already on the stack, an effect that resolves after Worldfire itself) and the nine mana you paid stops being a board-clear and becomes a kill. The most famous line pairs it with a fresh point of burn or a hasty attacker that connects before opponents draw into an out, since after the dust settles the only thing standing between any player and zero is a single point of damage. That fragility is the whole bargain: nine mana buys you a position where everyone sits at one life, and the player who arranged for the spell that resolves last walks away the only one alive. It demands an enormous amount of setup and pays it back with the most total reset in the game, which is exactly why it lives in combo shells rather than control ones. A control deck wants to survive its own board wipe; Worldfire only rewards the deck that already knows how it wins on the empty board it creates.
