Creature — Avatar3 generic manaWhite manaWhite mana

What separates this from a Smokestack or a Pernicious Deed is that the destruction is symmetrical only on paper: you write the rules of the sacrifice each turn, and you write them after you have already arranged the board to your advantage. The choice happens at the beginning of your upkeep, before you have committed anything new, which means you can name the type your opponent is leaning on, and if you happen to own none of it, the sacrifice lands on them alone. The word "may" is the lever here: the trigger is optional, so a turn that would cost you more than it costs the table is a turn you simply decline. Name creature while holding a wide board and a token, and what reads as one-for-one plays out lopsided; name a type you do not control at all, and it stops being a trade. The repeatability is what makes it an engine: every upkeep is another forced concession, and a board state that survives one trigger rarely survives three. What it asks in return is a clock that runs on your own turn structure, ticking only when you let it. It is the rare prison piece that also closes games on a 4/4 body, an attrition lock that needs no second card to start grinding the opponent's permanents away.

At the beginning of your upkeep, you may choose a card type. If you do, each player sacrifices a permanent of their choice of that type.
