Word of Undoing

InstantBlue mana

Bouncing a creature normally sends every Aura attached to it to the graveyard, because an Aura with nothing to enchant cannot survive the move; this card carves out an exception, returning the white Auras you own to your hand instead of letting them fall off and die. That salvage clause explains why the card exists at all. Returning a creature to its owner's hand is blue's universal early-game currency: cheap, instant-speed, enough to blunt an attacker or rescue your own threat from removal on the stack. White was the color that loaded protective and equipment-style enchantments onto a single body, so the rider lets you recoup that investment alongside the creature rather than eating a two-for-one. When the board cooperates (your creature, your white Auras), one mana recovers two cards' worth of material; when it doesn't, the card is plain Unsummon with extra words. The phrasing protects but does not exclude: bounce your own creature and a hostile Aura attached to it, an opponent's Pacifism included, still strips off and dies, because that Aura is not yours to save. The narrowness explains why the card never found a permanent home: it pays off in exactly one board configuration and adds nothing outside it, a reward too specific to build around.
