The whole point is the rate: a 5/4 for three is a body you would expect to pay five or six mana for, and the only tax is that all three pips are different colors. No drawback text, no enters-tapped clause, no upkeep cost, just raw stats stapled to a cost that forces a three-color manabase to support it. This is the bargain at the heart of the shard-color design that produced it, where each three-color allied shard of the Naya kind rewarded honoring the commitment with creatures pushed well past the curve for their size. The 5/4 split matters more than the size suggests: four toughness ducks under the small burn of its era while five power means it trades up or races almost anything its cost can be expected to meet. What it lacks is any way to protect itself or generate value: no evasion, no trample, no second ability to fall back on when the board stalls. It is a beater and nothing else, the kind of creature whose entire argument is that it is bigger and cheaper than the rules of color identity should allow. The design says, in effect, that committing three colors is a real cost, and that the payoff should land the turn you cast it rather than spread across a game's worth of incremental value.
