Woodland Mystic

Creature — Elf Druid1 generic manaGreen mana

The redundancy copy of the Llanowar Elves effect, printed one full generic mana more expensive than the originals so the good versions stay scarce. Llanowar Elves and Elvish Mystic tap for green off a single land drop, putting three mana in front of a player on turn two and jumping the curve by a full beat. This does the same thing pushed back one turn: cast it on turn two, reach four mana on turn three. That is still real acceleration, just a slower and less explosive brand of it. A one-drop dork that survives to the next turn has already paid rent, so those slots get rationed carefully across formats and eras; charging double for identical output is how the effect stays available without letting every green deck vault to three mana on the play. Because it costs 1 generic manaGreen mana, a player already has green when they cast it, so calling it fixing overstates the case: its job is ramp and Elf-count, not color correction, though the extra green source does smooth the path to a double-green turn. Strip the pedigree away and it is a 1/1 that produces one green and reads as an Elf, which is enough in a deck built to reward creature-type synergy and slower ramp, and not much anywhere the fast one-drops are legal.
