Woodland Champion

Creature — Elf Scout1 generic manaGreen mana

The counter payoff that reframes token generation as a growth engine rather than a go-wide one. Most token strategies care about the width of the board: more bodies, more attackers, more sacrifice fodder. This one converts every batch of tokens into a single vertical threat, and it does the accounting all at once, reading the number of tokens that enter simultaneously rather than trickling counters in one at a time. That distinction carries real weight: an effect that makes three tokens in one event grows the body by three, which rewards burst-token makers over any steady drip. The tension the design sits inside is that the counters wait on the tokens actually arriving, making it a build-around that punishes a durdle draw and rewards a critical mass of enablers elsewhere on your side. It plays with green's counter-matters lineage from a sideways angle: instead of proliferating or paying mana to grow, it launders the overflow of a go-wide plan into the go-tall axis, so one creature can outscale a removal-light board. And the trigger reads any token entering under your control, not just creatures: treasure, clue, and food all feed the same counter if they arrive alongside your swarm, which is what gives the card reach past the obvious green-white shell. Everything hinges on token makers this elf does not carry itself; it is the sink, never the source.
