Wolf Strike

Fight spells have always been green's compromise for creature removal: point your creature at theirs, both take damage, and the trade only pays off if your side is bigger. This one severs that formula. The damage runs one direction, from your creature into the target, so your attacker never eats the counterpunch that makes classic fight designs a gamble. Layered on top is the day/night wrinkle: if the game has already tipped to night, your creature swells by +2/+0 before dealing its damage, turning a modest body into something that clears a mid-sized blocker outright. The same spell is workmanlike removal by day and a genuine blowout after dark, all for the same price. The night bonus is where the rate earns its keep: at instant speed the card can ambush an attacker mid-combat or answer a freshly resolved threat before it untaps, and when the board is dark, those extra two points quietly widen the range of what it can kill. It sits in green's long habit of chasing one-sided fight effects, but ties its ceiling to a board state you don't control by casting spells at all: night arrives when a player takes a turn without casting one, so the boost belongs to decks patient enough to let the game go quiet. When it's night, the reward is real; when it isn't, you still have serviceable single-target removal that never risks your own creature.
