Wildwood Tracker

Creature — Elf WarriorGreen mana

The conditional pump here rewards the shape of your board rather than a specific tribe: the +1/+1 fires only in combat, and only if a second non-Human is already on the battlefield. That combat clause is the whole outline of the design. Cast alone with an empty board, it swings as a bare 1/1; land it beside a mana dork or an early Beast and it is already a 2/2 the first time it attacks. The non-Human line is broad enough to sidestep the tribal-lockout problem that hobbles narrower lords: it does not ask for Elves specifically, only for company that is not a person, so it slots into any green go-wide shell skewing away from Human synergies. The ability triggers on blocking as well as attacking, which quietly turns it into a 2/2 speed bump on defense, an easy detail to miss on a card most players read as a pure aggro one-drop. What holds it back from being a genuine threat is the same clause that switches it on: the buff is temporary and combat-gated, so it never accrues, never scales, and never matters outside a swing. It is a role-player for a board already tilted anti-Human, doing a small job cleanly and asking nothing of the deck it was not already going to provide.
