Whisper Agent

Creature — Human Rogue1 generic manaBlue or Black manaBlue or Black mana

The hybrid pips are the whole construction here: a Dimir guild card that accepts either of its two colors for both flexible slots, so a mono-blue tempo deck and a mono-black attrition deck can both field it without touching their manabase. Flash and a 3/2 body make it a real ambush blocker that trades up or holds mana open for a counterspell bluff, and the surveil on entry stitches it into a graveyard plan: every cast smooths the next draw or feeds delve, undergrowth, escape, and the rest of the effects that want bodies and spells in the bin. Surveil was the mechanic that reframed self-mill as card filtering rather than a combo enabler, and this creature is one of the cleaner vehicles for that idea: it does honest work in combat while quietly advancing a longer game engine. None of the parts demand attention on their own; the value comes from a creature that lets you hold up an end-step play, make a card-quality decision with information you did not have at the start of your turn, and still leave a relevant blocker behind. It is rogue as a design posture as much as a creature type: efficient, reactive, and content to bank small advantages instead of asking for the spotlight.
