Whirlwind

Sorcery2 generic manaGreen manaGreen mana

Green's answer to the problem green isn't supposed to be able to solve: things in the air. The color's identity has always been grounded, literally, and flying is the keyword that exploits its blind spot. Whirlwind is the genre's purest sweeper, a hard reset on the entire flying board for four mana, and it asks nothing in return beyond the cost itself. No life payment, no creature trade, no restriction to "blockers" or "attackers"; if it flies, it dies. The design lineage runs through Hurricane and Squall Line on one side (mass anti-flyer effects that also hit players) and through the narrower Plummet on the other (point removal that targets a single airborne threat). Whirlwind sits between them as the dedicated board wipe: wider than the single-target answers, cleaner than the burn-everyone storms. The catch built into its purity is the sorcery speed. Cast on your own turn, it cannot ambush an alpha strike or punish a flash-in flyer mid-combat; the opponent commits to the air, passes, and only then does the wind arrive. That tempo gap is what keeps the sweep from being oppressive. What it represents is green's standing deal with the rest of the color pie: you get the most efficient anti-flying removal in the game, but only against flyers, and only on your own clock.
