Half of a damage-amplification puzzle that asks you to wound first and finish second. The tap ability does nothing in a vacuum: it mirrors whatever harm a creature has already absorbed this turn, so on its own it reads as a dead 1/1. The card comes alive only when something else opens the wound, and the cleaner the partner the better. A combat blocker that survives, a small burn spell, even a previous activation in a multi-Whipkeeper board can prime the target, and then the dwarf doubles down on the same point of damage it just witnessed. That sequencing demand is the whole design: damage is tracked per turn and resets at cleanup, so the ability is locked to a window that closes every turn and has to be reopened. It rewards players who think in damage stacks rather than single removal spells, the kind of red-deck math where two small hits combine into a kill nothing in that color could do alone for the cost. As a 1/1 with a four-mana cost, the body never pretends to be the reason you run it; the dwarf is a delivery mechanism for an effect that scales with someone else's aggression. It belongs to that strand of red removal that refuses to do its own dirty work, preferring to redirect and amplify pain already in motion rather than supply the initial spark itself.
